55 Amazing Architecture Series (INDIA)- Vol 5
The previous volumes showcased the amazing architectures from around the world. All are masterpieces beautifully crafted by maestros that made their mark on the world. Here are 11 amazing architectures from nowhere other but India:
1. Lotus Temple, New Delhi

Located in the capital of India, the Lotus Temple is a Bahá'í House of Worship that was dedicated in December 1986. The building is composed of 27 free-standing marble-clad “petals” arranged in clusters of three to form nine sides, with nine doors opening onto a central hall of height over 34.27 meters. The Lotus Temple can hold up to 25,000 people.
2. Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur, Rajasthan

A multi-arts centre in Jaipur, built by the Rajasthan Government to preserve Rajasthani arts and crafts. It has eight blocks including a museum, amphitheatre, auditorium, library, and art studios.
3. The British Council, Delhi

Headquartered in Delhi, the British Council building was designed in 1992 by Charles Correa. The British Council has been in India since 1948, with offices across multiple cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.
4. The Light Box Restroom, Mumbai

Located in Thane West, Mumbai, and designed by Rohan Chavan, this 30 sq.m structure was completed in 2016. It provides rest and relief from the scorching heat of Indian summers.
5. Pearl Academy of Fashion, Jaipur

A prominent institute for design, fashion, and business, with its main campus now located in Naraina, South Delhi.
6. House on Pali Hill, Mumbai

Designed by Bijoy Jain and Studio Mumbai, this architectural gem is located in Mumbai and reflects elegant contemporary design.
7. The Park Hotels, Hyderabad

The Park Hotels, a luxury-boutique chain by the Apeejay Surrendra Group, received the “National Tourism Award” (2003-04) for best boutique hotel from the Government of India.
8. KYMF Clinic, Bangalore

Known for both its medical care and modern design, this Bengaluru clinic features architecture supported by materials from Paramount Industries and Birla White Wallcare Putty.
9. Capitol Complex, Chandigarh

A UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sector 1 of Chandigarh, designed by Le Corbusier. Notably, its Shadow Tower allows no direct sunlight inside from any angle.
10. I-Flex Solutions, Bangalore

Since 1988, this tech park in Bangalore has grown significantly. It features two distinct blocks – Development and Corporate – each with unique architectural characteristics.
11. Taj Mahal, Agra, Uttar Pradesh

The iconic ivory-white marble mausoleum on the Yamuna river bank in Agra. Commissioned by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, it remains one of the most celebrated architectural wonders globally.
